Butcher Blowdown Draws Four Bidders at 191 Percent Over MT DNRC Minimum

Butcher Blowdown Timber Permit (MT DNRC, Northwestern Land Office) drew four bidders and cleared $34.86/ton against a $12.00/ton per-unit minimum, 191% over the per-unit minimum. The total high bid was $83,838 against a $28,860 total minimum. MT DNRC's Section 36 Timber Sale and three ODF results also posted in the same period.

• Board since Jun 25: 30 sold sales, green sawtimber at a median +46% over minimum, 56,509 MBF state timber sold.
• No bid: Elk Mill (WA DNR) drew no qualifying bid.
• Biggest volume: King (WA DNR) at 54,547 tons, total high bid $1,520,770.

Upcoming auctions

Fifty-five sales are advertised and not yet auctioned. Aug 26 is the busiest date on the current calendar: four IDL salvage sales post in Idaho, led by Honkin Blowdown Salvage Ton (Payette Lakes) at 5,548 tons and ODonnell Darn Salvage (St. Joe) at 2,270 MBF. Seven WA DNR sales also auction today in the Northwest and Olympic Regions, with Barbed Wire (Olympic Region, Jefferson County) the largest at 7,126 MBF against a $964,000 minimum and East May VDT VRH (Northwest Region, Snohomish County) at 4,582 MBF against a $655,000 minimum. Unscheduled Gravity Salvage (IDL, Ponderosa) at 785 MBF auctions Aug 27. Plus 29 earlier-this-month sales with auction dates already passed are awaiting posted results.
