Current timber prices (state sawtimber stumpage) #
Current timber prices: standing green sawtimber sold at state timber auctions for a volume-weighted $440 per MBF over the three months through October 2026, across 19 Oregon Department of Forestry and Washington DNR sales. That is stumpage, the price of trees on the stump, not the price of lumber or delivered logs.
Public timber sales in 2026 #
199 public timber sales have been auctioned so far in 2026 across Washington DNR, the Oregon Department of Forestry, the Montana DNRC, the US Forest Service and BLM, of which 192 sold (Stumpage).
Timber volume offered in 2026 #
About 521,404 MBF of state timber and 0 CCF of federal timber, plus 1,034,827 tons of per-ton-scaled timber, have been offered at auction in 2026 across the tracked sales. MBF, CCF and tons are different units and are never summed into one figure.
