Country Boy and McBoulder Among Five No-Bids in WA DNR's Late-October Round

WA DNR posted 14 late-October results: nine sold, five drew no bid. Country Boy, McBoulder and Soup Bones VDT VRH are among the new no-bids. The fall state board median stands at +18% over minimum on 109,377 MBF sold.

Five of 14 WA DNR results posted this week drew no bid: Country Boy (Oct 29), McBoulder (Oct 28) and Soup Bones VDT VRH (Oct 28), plus Raw Bin Hood Direct Sale and Q Dead End, both with Oct 1 auction dates. The nine that closed included Fishhook, Bough Down and Klister VDT & VRH. Across the fall state board, the green sawtimber median sits at +18% over appraised minimums on 31 sold sales totaling 109,377 MBF.

  • Nine WA DNR sales closed Oct 27-29: Fishhook, Kunamakst Again, More Gooder, Bough Down, Ladybug, Amethyst, Q Flowery Trail, Q 99 Bees and Klister VDT & VRH.
  • The recent fall board counts six total no-bid sales. Five are from this WA DNR batch: Country Boy, McBoulder, Soup Bones VDT VRH, Raw Bin Hood Direct Sale and Q Dead End, all WA DNR.
  • Klister VDT & VRH (Oct 27, WA DNR) sold. Soup Bones VDT VRH (Oct 28, WA DNR) drew no bid, a split within the VDT/VRH category.
  • The widest fall-board premiums are both MT DNRC (Northwestern Land Office), covered in prior issues. GNA Pine-ing Away cleared $18.03/ton against a $5.80/ton per-unit minimum, +211% over the per-unit minimum with 2 bidders (total high bid $372,896 against a $119,931 minimum). Short Star Blowdown cleared $35.10/ton against a $12.00/ton per-unit minimum, +193% over the per-unit minimum with 3 bidders (total high bid $87,399 against a $29,880 minimum).
  • GNA Pine-ing Away (MT DNRC) is also the largest-volume sale on the recent board at 20,687 tons.

Upcoming auctions

46 sales are advertised and not yet auctioned. Two BLM Coos Bay District sales go today (Oct 30): Windy Bend CT at 2,440 MBF offered (Douglas-fir, Coos OR) and King Salmon at 1,499 MBF offered (Douglas-fir, Coos OR). North Diamond Cedar (IDL, Priest Lake) is the largest published-volume near-term sale at 4,005 MBF offered on Nov 10. On Nov 5, the Forest Service offers Cracker Decks and Deer Decks (Wallowa-Whitman National Forest) and RIP BD (Mount Hood National Forest), all with volume not yet published. Plus 25 sales from earlier this month held their auctions with results not yet posted.
